Helmut Scherer is Chief Technology Officer at Erbe Elektromedizin GmbH with currently six production sites worldwide.

He joined Erbe as Global Vice President Design & Development in 2015. Later, he was acting global Vice President Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs. Before joining Erbe he held several manager positions at global companies in the field of medical devices. He worked several years as software developer. Helmut Scherer is founder/co-founder of five start-up companies.

He is an active member of the Regulatory Affairs working group at ZVEI. He is mentor at the University of Wuerzburg and mentor at the Med Tech Startup School, University of Tuebingen.

Helmut Scherer holds a diploma degree in electrical engineering with a focus of study on medical engineering. He received his PhD from the University Wuerzburg in the field of semiconductor Physics.
